CEM Quarantine Station:
Thank you for your inquiry about the CEM Quarantine Station at River House. The following should answer most of your questions, but please call if we can be of any further assistance.
River House maintains a US approved CEM quarantine station for completing the process of importing breeding age horses into the US. We are very experienced in the handling of breeding and performance stallions, the management of brood or performance mares. We have done this for many years for ourselves and clients. Recent clients include Judy and Steve Bernier of Martha’s Vineyard, a top international dressage and breeding operation; Carol Lavell of Vermont, an Olympic medal winning dressage competitor; Eric Hasbruck, a top international jumper rider, etc.
As active owner/managers, our personal attention and participation in the quarantine process allows us to be able to update owners on progress by phone and/or fax as much as necessary. Our facilities include large airy stalls with rubber-matted flooring. Daily turnout is routine and clients are invited to observe. Horses are attended to many times each day and in some cases training and conditioning can be maintained during to the quarantine process. Both Jeanie and I are FEI riders and will try to accommodate any special requests.
Our farm produces all of the forage used in performance, breeding, and quarantine operations to ensure quality. All feed rations based on these farm-produced forages are analyzed and balanced with appropriate supplements.
CEM Fee schedule:
Mare - Average stay 20 days.
Approximate cost $2000. Includes board, CEM culture and treatment expense.
Stallions - Average stay is 40 days.
Approximate cost $5000. Includes board, CEM culture, treatment expense, and 2 test mares.
Transportation:
River House is located just three miles off of Interstate 91. We can arrange to transport horses from Newburgh NY, or the client can make their own arrangements.
