We just got back from a lovely weekend at the Great American Insurance USDF Region 3 Championships. The weather in Fairburn, GA could not have been more perfect! The venue – Bouckaert Farm at Chattahoochee Hills was gorgeous! And the horses and riders were successful! All of this made for a very enjoyable Region 3 Championship experience!

Our Elite Hanoverian Stallion, Bretone, ended the weekend on a high note by taking the top spot in the Region 3 Open Grand Prix Championships! Way to go Tony! Although he is 17 now, judge Janet Foy said that he continues to improve every time she sees him!

Farleight pulled off a hat-trick for Nora over the weekend – putting in three very solid performances. The highlight was the Intermediare Freestyle Championships on Saturday, which Farleight won with an impressive 71.063%! Good boy! Farleight kicked off the weekend with a third place finish in a very competitive I-1 Championship and although he was tired on Sunday he still put in a very obedient test to finish 7th out of a big field.

Bahai, Nora’s 8 year old Baroncelli/Rotspon mare, was a star at just her third show competing at the FEI level. She put in a fabulous test in the huge Open Prix St. Georges class on Saturday to win the whole thing with a 68.289%. This score was also good enough for Reserve Champion PSG High Score for the show! Just like Farleight, she was a little tired for her test in the Prix St. Georges Championship on Sunday, but she still put in a solid test in a competitive field to finish 6th. We are very proud of how much she has matured in just three shows!

Weide and Gilberto were coached by Jeanie to a fourth place finish in a very big Third Level 3 class on Saturday. But, their weekend highlight came on Sunday when they put in a clean, smooth test to finish third in the Adult Amateur Third Level Regional Championship. And, both his mother and sister were on hand to cheer for him! Good job GG!

A few pictures from the event (more competition photos later) …
