River House welcomes Ballencia RH!

Ballencia was born at four in the morning on 25 February 2014. Her mother is States Premium Mijou, an overall “8″ Matcho/Argentan mare who scored two “9s” on rideability in her German under saddle test, has produced the approved stallion, Delacroix RH. International dressage horses have come from this mother line. The sire is our lovely, elite Grand Prix stallion, Bretone (Brentano II/Salut). The name “Ballencia” means strong and brave – fitting for a filly who decided to go for a gallop around the farm at just a few hours old! The name originates from the ancient Spanish city of Valencia, which purportedly smells strongly of citrus due to all of its orange groves – again, a fitting name for a chestnut filly born when the Florida oranges are in full bloom, to a mare who has never had a chestnut in a dozen foals! Ballencia is pretty and leggy and we hope for great things in her future!

River House welcomes Behati RH!

SPS Weltfee II (Weltmeyer/Lord Udo) delivered a tall, strong filly in the early morning hours on March 21, 2014. We have decided to name her Behati after the Namibian Supermodel. This filly is one of the many Bretone/Weltfee II foals that we have had and we love them all! Her full siblings are Betty Davis, Barcelona (AKA Banana), Banderas, Baaron Miller, Bogart, Bacardi, and Bellatrix. Barcelona qualified in the top 15 four year olds in the country for the Markel National Young Horse Championships in 2011 and we are loving riding Banderas, Baaron Miller, and Bogart – all talented, super rideable horses. Behati is very outgoing and already shows great balance and gaits. She’s going to be one to watch in the future!
