Farleight and Bahai both successfully made their Grand Prix debuts at the American Dressage Concours in Venice, FL at the beginning of February. They are now officially Grand Prix horses! That makes five horses trained to Grand Prix by Nora (Farleight, Bahai, Bretone, Rue Facile, and Weide)!

They returned to Venice at the end of February for the Florida Dressage Concours 1 & 2 and performed very well. Nora decided to try Farleight in the new Intermediare B test, which proved to be a very forward and inviting test for him – he took home two blue ribbons with scores of 72.262% and 70.595%! In the two tests, he earned EIGHTEEN 8′s and one 9!!! Way to go Flumpy!
Bahai was also a superstar! She also took home two blue ribbons for her efforts in the Developing Horse Grand Prix. She earned a 68.625%, including FIVE 8′s and an 8.5, the first day and a 70.500% overall the second day (a 70.125% and a 70.875%, including FIFTEEN 8′s, from the two judges)! Bahai received multiple 8′s on her piaffe, which is very exciting! She should be all qualified for the Markel National Developing Horse Grand Prix Championships in August in Illinois. So, for now it’s just more training for the next few months with her.

Farleight and Nora went to the Ocala Spring Dressage I competition on March 8th and 9th. He had another stellar weekend in his new favorite test, the Intermediare B. He earned two more blue ribbons and lots more 8′s – scoring a 68.690% and a 70.714% on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Good boy, Flumpy!!!  Wilber also attended the Ocala Spring Dressage I show with Jeanie in the saddle. It was their first big show together for quite some time and they put in two successful Intermediare I tests, scoring in the mid-sixties.  The pirouettes were a real highlight. Next up for Wilber and Farleight may be the Ocala Spring Dressage II competition in April.
