GMHA (Oct. 2 & 3):

River House had a very good showing at GMHA Fall Dressage. Jeanie and Moliebi (Maronjo/Rubinstein I) did very well at third level – earning consistent scores in the mid-sixties (64% to 66%) and Open Reserve High Point third level horse on both Saturday and Sunday. Wilber (AKA Wilde Card) and Jeanie did really well at fourth level. They earned 68+% in their fourth level 2 on Saturday, which gave them the Open Reserve High Point for fourth level on Saturday, as well as for the whole show. Another good fourth level two test earned them the Open Reserve High Point for Sunday, as well. They also won their fourth level 2 on Sunday. Nora rode Farleight to a win with a 66+% in the Prix St. Georges on Saturday, which earned them both the Open FEI High Point Award for that day and for the whole show. Nora and Bretone (Brentano II/Salut) won the Grand Prix on Saturday and their first ever Grand Prix Special on Sunday. They were the Reserve Open FEI High Point on Saturday, the Open FEI High Point on Sunday, and the Reserve Open FEI High Point for the whole show. Amy Bresky rode her lovely gelding Welkin (by the Weltmeyer son Weltruhm) to a win with a great score in the Intermediare I on Sunday. This test gave them the Reserve Adult Amateur FEI High Point award. Nora also rode Amy’s fabulous Bretone baby, Brent, to two wins in the USEF Four Year Old test with 75%s. Brent, out of a States Premium Davignon/Matcho X mare, received great scores on his gates (8 on the canter!), rideablity, and general impression. His impressive showing and outstanding attitude in his first dressage ring appearance made Bretone proud! Kathy Feehery and her mare Rosalie (Rotspon/Brentano II) also had a very good weekend – winning at 1st level and earning scores to 65% at second level, which gave them the Adult Amateur Second Level High Score award for Sunday and the whole show. Kim, from the River Run clinics, rode Harry, her homebred thoroughbred/Chincoteague cross, to a win at first level. Lucy, also from the River Run clinics, rode James to scores through 65% at 1st level and the Open Reserve First Level High Point award on Sunday. WAY TO GO RIVER HOUSE HORSES, RIDERS, STUDENTS, and COACH VERNE!!!!!!!

DEER CREEK (Sept. 25):

Nora took a trailer load of horses to Thornton, NH for a two-phase event at Deer Creek Farm. LuLu, Nora’s 15.2 hand spotted resale project, was a total star! She won her beginner novice combined test on her fabulous dressage score of 25. Although the stadium was a little scary (with Holstein barrels, brick walls, planks, a brush box and other questions), LuLu was a trooper and did not hesitate on her way to a clear round. Mandy, Emma’s Maronjo/Argentan/Matcho X mare, also won her novice combined test. She thought her novice level dressage test was much easier than third level and easily scored a 25. Mandy was brave and clean in her stadium round. Bahai (Baroncelli/Rotspon) was a bit tense, but expressive, in her training level event test – earning her a 29. She warmed up beautifully for her stadium round, but experienced a bit of anxiety about the Holstein barrels. Other than that, she was very brave and jumped beautifully, as always. Way to go little mares!!!
