River House Competition Horses

BAHAI

Bahai, affectionately known as Hoodles, is a 2004, mare by Baroncelli out of SPS Rose (Rotspon/World Cup I). River House purchased SPS Rose in Germany with Bahai in utero. Bahai was imported at her mother’s side and has been raised at River House since she was just a few months old. In Bahai’s 3 year old year, Nora started to ride her. Nora and Bahai started out doing quite a bit of jumping, as Bahai was an energetic young thing that did not immediately take to the discipline of dressage. They developed a strong partnership over fences, showing through Level 3 Jumpers at HITS Ocala and the Ocala Horse Park, when Bahai was a 5 and 6 year old. By 7 years old, Bahai was much more comfortable in schooling dressage and by 8 she made her debut at Prix St. Georges. At 9, Bahai was been undefeated in the Developing Prix St. Georges qualifiers and debuted successfully at Intermediare I. She qualified to compete at the 2013 Markel National Developing Horse Prix St. Georges Championships and finished sixth out of the top fifteen horses in the country! Bahai and Nora were fortunate to work with Debbie McDonald both at Developing Dressage Program Training Sessions and at the National Championships. Their performance earned them a Developing Dressage Training Grant from the USET High Performance Committee! In 2014, at 10, Bahai made her Grand Prix debut -  scoring up to 70.500% in the Developing Horse Grand Prix Qualifiers! In 2015, Bahai had a great year at Open Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle, culminating in fantastic showings at Regionals and Nationals. In 2016, Bahai earned personal bests in national Grand Prix, earning almost 71% in Grand Prix and over 78% in the Freestyle, she also started getting her feet wet in Grand Prix CDIs, earning a third place Freestyle finish at the inaugural Tryon CDI 3*!
